Transitions

Transitions

Trees stand bare as Fall settles down
and grass awaits its frozen gown.
Another season comes and goes.
Those vibrant leaves, now cold and limp,
have nothing left for which to primp,
while muted colors decompose.
A hardened earth won’t feel the sting
for underneath, a brand new Spring
lies waiting under Winter clothes.
